How many weddings do you shoot each year?
Each of our photographers shoots between 15 and 20 weddings each year. We want to make sure that there is enough time to edit and touch-up each photo just the way you would like it.
What is your photography style?
For most of your wedding day, our photographers will be capturing what is going on documentary-style. Capturing expressions, excitement, anticipation and every other emotion we can find, and then focusing on the images that tell the story of your special day!
When working outside of the more formal wedding environment, we generally have more creativity and inspiration to capture more of your shoot list.
What type of equipment do you use?
We use only professional grade Canon, Sony or Nikon which are industry standards. We edit each photo using studio software such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and a few others. We are also members of the National Association of Wedding and Photography Professionals.
When will we get our photos?
We take care to give you only the best photography. That is why we spend so much time making them dazzle! Normally, your proof set will be ready in the 8-12 week timeframe. During the busy summer months, you should expect them towards the 9-12 week timeframe.
Can I keep my photos?
Yes! Besides being able to access them at our online viewing gallery, you will have them sent on your choice of a flash drive or DVD. You will receive ALL the photographs shot on your wedding and full and unrestricted rights. All that means is you can use them however you please at no additional cost (print, post, share – it’s totally up to you!).
What file type do you photograph in? RAW or JPG?
For those of you who don’t know what the difference is, here is a quick primer: Raw is essentially what it sound like. The camera is set in a way that no processing is added. This gives us some great flexibility when we get back to the studio and work our magic! Once we are done, you will get each photo in a supreme high resolution JPEG.
Can we have more than one photographer?
Yes. We sometimes like to be able to shoot from various angles that really capture a certain expression. We can do this with even more flexibility when we have an assistant to shoot part of the ceremony and/or reception. Please ask your wedding planner more about the details and cost. Or, just check out our Inspired-PAK which features two photogs by default.
Film or Digital?
In some instances, we may use both. Most of our higher end packages incorporate several different methods.
How many photos do you take?
Generally, we take between 70 and 100 photos each hour. Generally, you will only receive about 60-80% because many times we take numerous shots of the same thing and then pick one or two “best-of” shots to share with you.
Do you have experience with families that have special needs?
Yes. We can accommodate and like to make everyone feel welcome in each of our shoots. If you know of a situation that may come up where additional time might be required, please let us know.
Do you bring back-up equipment?
Yes. We have a complete back-up (batteries, flash, camera, lens, etc) that we have just in that rare instance where me might need it. However, all of our equipment is well maintained, top-of-the-line gear.
Do you travel?
Yes, we love to travel and will accommodate your schedule however you see fit. Normally, we would arrive the day prior to the shoot in order to get settled and explore some locations we might go. Some situations may required an additional fee for us to shoot there (such as a Las Vegas wedding chapel), but we can work with you on that.
Can you take our photos somewhere other than the church/ceremony/reception location?
Yes, usually, we plan on having a good 60-90 minutes of “on-location” shooting. We generally find that the couple enjoy having us work with them on unique and artistic poses and shots. Prior to your day, we will go over all the essentials to make the best use of this time!
How long have your photographers been shooting weddings?
Each of our photogs has several years and 50+ weddings behind them. They each develop their own way of shooting, but can usually make anyone feel right at home. Make sure you check out their profiles for more.
How do we reserve you for our wedding?
That is easy! Just return your contract and down payment. We assign our photogs right away so you can rest assured nothing will happen to your date. And just for added protection, we have a photographer that is left on stand-by in the rare instance that we may need them.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, we take VISA, MASTER CARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DISCOVER, CHECK, PAYPAL, CHASE QUICK PAY and good ol’ fashioned US DOLLARS. We prefer check, quick pay or cash only because we pay a fee to Paypal to run your credit card.
Is a deposit required to hold my wedding date?
Yes, our deposits are 50% of the contract and that is due once you decide you wish to book us. It is not refundable because we hard book your date and won’t take any other weddings for your photographer on your wedding date.
When is the final payment due?
Your final payment is due 30 days PRIOR to your wedding date.
How far in advance are you booked?
Our photographers are generally booked 6-12 months in advance. The late spring, summer and early fall book up fast. So if you see someone or a photo you like, let us know and get us booked for your wedding!
Is your wedding package flexible?
We like to work within your budget and we offer several options that may help you. Please let us know and we will try and accommodate.
Do you offer albums?
Yes! Albums are so fun to create and then to share your wedding story with all your friends and family. Normally, these are offered a la carte for your convenience because some couples don’t want them and some do!
The cost for our albums ranges from $300 – $3,000 with many unique and personal ideas in between.
What do I do about my friends and my mother-in-law who wants to see these pictures?
It’s up to you, but we have an online viewing gallery for you to simply choose the ones you want prints of. <SMUGMUG LINK>
What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
We will go with plan B, literally. There are many cool shots we can take with the rain in the background. We always have ways to light up the drops and make it a very cool and fun experience (keeping you all dry in the process!)
When do you normally meet with clients?
Our wedding planners and photographers are available by appointment during the workweek or on the weekends. Please call or email us and we will set you up with an appointment.
When is the best time to schedule our engagement portrait?
Engagement portraits can be scheduled anytime prior to your wedding. We can shoot on-location or set-up in our studio. It is up to you. We have endless possibilities in this area, so feel free to think as much as you’d like.
Is it important to have an engagement session?
Indeed! Your commitment and love for one another is a major part of your life and that story deserves to be told! The images we create can be used in many different ways, such as sharing on Facebook, or extended family announcements or event on invites or at your wedding. But, the most important is you!
Where should we have our engagement session?
Think about locations that have some sort of special meaning for the two of you and your relationship. If you are drawing a blank, just let us know. Our photographers will suggest some great spots and you can choose the ones that fit you the best.
What happens at our engagement session?
We will go on-location to some great spots that have special significance for you and your fiance. Just let the shooting happen, don’t force it. We can give you some great direction, but show us YOU and that will be perfect.
How long will our session last?
That depends on what you need, but most of the time plan on a couple of hours. Your engagement and the story we put together will take some time to capture.
What should we wear?
Wear what you all feel the most comfortable in, but not too casual.
